Heritage, Integrity, Prosperity
Jory Rand Argyle
for Layton City Council
Hello, I’m Jory Argyle. I’m running for Layton City Council because; I'm passionate about and love the city my ancestors helped establish and develop. I've always thought of Layton was where I'd raise my family. I believe that a strategic balanced approach celebrating our heritage, fostering integrity (through unrestrained transparency), and Strategically Planning for the Prosperity of our city are essential.

Family
My kids fulfill my life; providing me growth & service opportunities. In their younger years I volunteered for the Layton AYSO board and coached soccer for multiple years. My life now has transformed me into a "Dance Mom". When not fulfilling that duty, I get to also enjoy attending marching band & drumline competitions.
Band events, with my son, provide me an opportunity to volunteer at competitions each year. As a "Dance Mom" I am able to cater lunches for my daughters' dance studio during their dance competitions.
My oldest daughter, just finished her freshman year at USU. I'm very proud of her recent decision to serve our country, enlisting in the Navy. She'll start her new chapter in life at bootcamp in August.
My Background

Early years
As a baby, my family lived in Layton, close to our extended family. When I was a few years old, we moved to Tremonton (UT), where I completed my primary education.
We came to Layton at least weekly during that time, & those frequent visits developed my deep passion for Layton. I've always envisioned myself raising my family in Layton.

Early Adult Life
I completed my undergrad studies at Utah State University. My parents helped me develop a strong work ethic, which has continued to benefit me throughout life.
Because of that work ethic, I was committed to able to work full-time, with a full class load. I earned my bachelors degree in Public Health; an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene.

My Career
I've gained a very broad level of experience in multiple fields throughout my career. The first 10 years, occupational safety & health was my focus. The next 8 years I oversaw learning & development.
A few years ago, I transitioned to a new career where I test next-generation systems at Hill Air Force Base.
My Vision for Layton
Celebrate Heritage
Honor & preserve our farms, traditions, neighborhoods, recreation, community, heritage, and quality of life. Layton is a microcosm of multiple sub-cultures that must be honored, protected, and celebrated.
Foster
Integrity
Establishing a culture and practice of unrestrained transparency. Create opportunities to increase resident involvement. Proactively encourage resident engagement. Layton’s success requires all of our efforts and input.
Strategically Plan for Prosperity
Layton's sustained prosperity needs a strategic plan to develop and maintain reliable infrastructure, commitment to a master plan that highlights the unique subcultures of Layton, and equip first responders with the proper resources.
